Base UI is an open-source library of unstyled React components from the people behind Radix, Floating UI and Material UI, built for accessible design systems, apps and websites. Components follow the ARIA Authoring Practices and WCAG 2.2, ship in one tree-shakable package with no CSS, and work with any styling approach from Tailwind to CSS Modules, as well as animation libraries like Motion. It is now one of the primitive layers shadcn/ui can build on, so it is worth understanding for any design engineer.
